Civic dignitaries from across Staffordshire have been given a guided tour of the National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield. The Chairman of Lichfield District Council, Councillor Joseph Powell, recently invited 19 dignitaries to Alrewas for the event. The guests were first introduced to the impressive site by Charlie Bagot-Jewitt – Chief Executive of the National Memorial Arboretum. They then attended a short service in chapel, before being taken on a tour of the arboretum. The visit was then rounded off with afternoon tea. Cllr Powell said:
“The National Memorial Arboretum never fails to impress visitors, and I was very proud to welcome my fellow civic dignitaries to this fascinating destination. We had an interesting and enjoyable day, and I would like to thank the team at the arboretum for making it such a special day.”
