Man knocked unconscious in Lichfield street attack

Police in Lichfield are hunting three men who knocked a man unconscious in an unprovoked attack.

The attack happened shortly after 9pm May 15 in the Tamworth Street area of the city centre.

The victim, who is in his 20’s and from Lichfield, was assaulted as he walked near Thrales’ restaurant.

All the offenders were white and in their 30’s or 40’s. One was described as having a large build and wearing a white shirt with a flower print. Another offender was slim, wearing a white shirt and the third was chubby and wearing a white and blue checked shirt.

Inspector Jed White said:

“These three men are very likely to have visited one or more pubs in the city centre during the evening and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have information about their identity.”

Police are urging anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the assault or, can identify the offenders, to contact them on 0300 123 44 55 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
