Lichfield residents of all ages are being given the chance to take part in a giant community dance performance at the city’s Fuse Festival.
Lichfield Arts, in partnership with Lichfield Garrick, are running a series of free workshops as part of their Dance Your Socks Off! project. Hundreds of local people including twelve schools, several local dance groups and community groups are already taking part in the performance on July 11 in Beacon Park.
The workshops, open to everyone, will take place in Lichfield on May 26, June 9, 16, 23 and 30 and July 7. All ages are welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Fuse, which runs from July 9 to 11, will also be staging many other dance activities including clog, morris, salsa, zumba and belly dance workshops.
Director Tim Perks said:
“We are very pleased to have secured funding for the project and are excited about the workshops for everyone starting soon. A team has been working hard on the Dance Your Socks Off! project since last Autumn. The workshops are a great chance for anyone to have a go at dance and the final performance really is going to be something special. I hope that many will join in or come along to Fuse to watch.”
