footballLichfield District Council is offering residents two courses to teach sports coaching skills.

The  Sports Coaching Training course, run by Premier Skills, is a taster course for adults interested in becoming sports coaches. It will cover one on one coaching, foundation skill building for young players and health and nutrition to mention a few.

Anyone over 19 years of age may apply the course which will be delivered in three sessions over three weeks at Armitage Village Hall on Shropshire Brook Road, beginning on Wednesday 16th June from 1-3pm.

Also on offer is a similar course for 16 to 18 year olds. Also run by Premier Skill it runs for six sessions and is a vocational related qualification covering player development, team play, planning and delivering coaching sessions.

A free course, it runs on Wednesdays from 6-8pm starting on 16th June at Armitage Village Hall.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “These are fantastic opportunities for anyone who is interested in becoming a sports coach. The type of sport you are interested in doesn’t matter, so it could be anything from football through to cricket. We hope lots of people sign up for both of these free courses, and find them an enjoyable learning experience.”

To book your free place on either of these courses, or for more information, please telephone Lucie Broad on 01543 308218 or email by 7 June.
