Lichfield District Council’s Leisure Services Team have outlined a number of activities to occupy and entertain children throughout Lichfield district this school holiday.

A host of fun activities are on offer at Burntwood, Friary Grange and King Edward VI leisure centres from Monday 31st May, running to 6th June.

King Edward VI leisure centre has a gymnastics coaching course to offer and there’s squash and tennis for just £2 per game at all leisure centres. Tumble Beds will also be at Kind Edward VI with a bouncy castle, climbing frames and foam waves.

From 1st-4th June, Go Ride Cycling will be at Friary Grange leisure centre with their off road and on road cycling skills course.

Burntwood leisure centre is holding it’s Rookie Lifeguard Course for eight to twelve year olds, again from 1st to 4th June. Youngsters taking part will be taught how to rescue themselves and others  as well as responding to emergencies and water safety.

Both Friary Grange and Burntwood leisure centres are open to swimmers every day, including this bank holiday. Under 16s accompanied by a full paying adult can swim for just 50p with the Splashtastic offer or £1 unaccompanied.

Cllr Val Richards, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: ” The sporty coaching courses running at our leisure centres are a great opportunity for kids to keep fit and healthy while making new friends. Whether your child wants to try out a new sport or just improve their skills, there’s an activity course running at Burntwood, Friary Grange or King Edward VI leisure centre this Whitsun week that they’ll enjoy.”

A full list of available activities is available from the Lichfield District Council web site.
