The Lichfield Players have unveiled their new logo.
The rebranded image, designed as part of a community competition, will feature in the new season’s programme, to be launched as part of their current performance of Willy Russell’s One for the Road at the Lichfield Garrick.
President Steve Brunton said:
“We are delighted with the outcome of our Spring competition which invited members of the public to redesign our logo ready for our 2010/2011 season. The calibre and creativity of entries was exceptional, but our judging panel was particularly drawn to student Rachael Sivewright’s reworking of a theatrical mask which puts a fresh, unique spin on the logo we’ve been using for over 20 years.”
Currently completing her first year at Lincoln University, Rachael was alerted to the competition by her Lichfield-based parents.
“Studying for an Art and Design Diploma at Tamworth and Lichfield College inspired me to embark on a Graphic Design course, and this was a great chance to have a go at a real life project.”
Having been chosen as the successful entrant, the 21 year old was invited to see her concept developed into a professional logo by Lichfield based Igloo57.
In a separate community project, the agency is also redesigning the 7th Lichfield Scouts website.
“To watch my design evolve has been a really exciting process and I’m really pleased with the finished result. Fingers crossed the new Players’ logo will be around for many seasons to come!”
The Lichfield Players close their 2009/10 season with Willy Russell’s comedy One for the Road which runs until June 12. Ticket price is £9 (concessions £8 and £6), available from the Garrick Box Office on 01543 412121 or www.lichfieldgarrick.com.
