People getting into the Wimbledon spirit are being given the chance to pick up a racquet and give the game a try. Lichfield Lawn Tennis Club are holding an open day on Sunday (June 27) from 10am to 2pm. The event has been arranged for new players to get a taste of the sport and those wanting to get back into this game. A spokesperson added:
“As a bonus this year we are offering a set amount of free coaching to all junior players and new adult members and have a new coaching programme in place with several sessions targeted specifically to new or returning players. “The club is equipped with 5 all weather floodlight courts, social tennis nights and of course competitive team tennis against rival clubs.”
Refreshments will be available as well as free parking at their Birmingham Road home. For more information contact chairman Bob Edgar on 01543 279963 or visit
