Bats will be the feature of a wildlife walk taking place in Lichfield.

Local enthusiast Chris Smith and Lichfield District Council’s countryside team will be giving people the chance to use a bat detector to discover which animals are flying and feeding over the city.

Justine Lloyd, Lichfield District Council’s countryside officer, said:

“Come along with us on this bat walk to see how many bats you can spot. The survey will help us to improve our knowledge of what bat species are in the area and will be an interesting experience to join in with. If you do come, please remember to wrap up warm, wear sensible shoes, and bring a torch with you. Also, because it’s a survey event, it’s not suitable for young children.”

The bat walk takes place at Christian Fields
tomorrow (July 1), from 9pm to 10.30pm and costs £2. To reserve a place on the walk, call Sandra Vaughan on 01543 308198.
