A fundraising event is being organised to help a Lichfield A-Level student take up her place with the National Youth Theatre.

Friary School’s Eve Fehily has been offered a place at the school whose alumni include stars such as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly.

The 17-year-old had to undergo an audition process earlier this year and now has to raise £1,000 in order to attend the group’s two week course this summer in Central London.

To help reach the target, Eve and other talented youngsters in the area will be performing in a unique variety show called A special ‘eve’ning. This one-off performance will be staged at the Friary School on July 13.

eveningposterThe show is being produced by new amateur dramatic company In A Pickle Productions, a group set up for and run solely by young people in the Lichfield area.

A spokesperson for the group said:

“Everyone here is putting their heart and soul into our performance, we’re setting our sights high, but with community support, anything is possible.”

Tickets for A special ‘eve’ning can be purchased from the Friary School website and cost £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for those 18 and under.

Eve was brilliant in this year’s Shakespeare in the Park, and is a massive talent. I hope plenty of people are able to go and support her!
