Fireworks set to ensure Lichfield Festival goes out with a bang

The 2010 Lichfield Festival will go out with a bang with a dramatic finale in Beacon Park.

Fireworks will go up in Beacon Park at 10.20pm on July 17 to mark the end of this year’s event.

A spokesperson for Lichfield Festival said:

“For the first time this year there will be some car parking available in the park. A £2 fee will be charged. There is no other entertainment in the park on that day.”

The fireworks display will wrap up a day of top notch entertainment as the BBC Philharmonic, under conductor Vassily Sinaisky and with cello soloist Guy Johnson, will play works by Barber, Schumann and Tchaikovsky.

Other events on the last day include the final Young Artist concert at St Chad’s Church, given by the young Australian mezzo soprano Helen Sherman at noon. MDCC Theatre Company will also be presenting Measure For Measure at Stowe House Gardens at 2pm.

The Happines Patrol present their novel take on the Salome story with Guilty Feet Have Got No Rhythm, in the Lichfield Garrick Studio at 8pm.
