Essentials 3-1 victory over Bassets Allsorts was enough to see them get off the mark for the season in the Lichfield six-a-side Sunday league, while Soldados beat Mean Machine 2-0 to leave the losers without a point still.

Gumtree’s 4-0 victory over Balboa’s Boys provided the highlights in division one, but Real Sosobad will be delighted after sneaking home 2-1 against Boley Explosion.

MPs missed the chance to secure the Monday 6 a side title after they could only draw 0-0 with Old Heads, while nearest challengers Boley Park Academy saw off Plough and Harrow by the games only goal.

Colin Lee’s Adopted Sons all but made sure of the division one championship after crushing second placed Norfolk 5-0, elsewhere Friary Sharks will no doubt be hoping for better next term if the maintain the sort of form they showed in a 7-0 dismissal of Lichfield Unathletic.

The rapidly improving Lichfield Crown showed their class in the Tuesday league humbling Bayern Neverlosin 9-1 and Pathletic Athletic made it six points from six games as they held their nerve to beat KED 2-1.
