Chasetown FC will look to put a pre-season defeat at Kidsgrove Athletic behind them – by facing Premier League opposition!

Two first half goals saw the Scholars beaten 2-0 by their old rivals as stand-in manager Andy Cox gave a run-out to the entire first team squad.

And the tough tests keep coming as Aston Villa visit the Scholars Ground on July 26 for a 7.45pm kick-off, before Wolverhampton Wanderers visit Church Street on August 2.

The Scholars’ next action sees them take on Kidderminster Harriers at home this evening – July 20 – in another 7.45pm kick-off.

Manager Charlie Blakemore told Chasetown’s official website:

“Two Premier league teams visiting the Scholars is a great for us and will really help our preparation for our first season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier league. It is great for our players and supporters and we will no doubt have some present and future star players on show.”

The home pre-season friendly programme is completed when Sheffield FC, the oldest football club in the world, visit on August 14 (kick-off 3pm).

Admission for all of the friendly matches is £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
