Charity car wash set to take place at Lichfield Fire Station

A charity car wash is taking place at Lichfield Fire Station to raise money for good causes.

The event is taking place on July 31 from 10am to 4pm with proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity and the Firefighters Memorial Trust.

As well as cleaning cars firefighters will be on hand to answer questions about fire safety and take referrals for Home Fire Risk Checks.

Dermot Hogan, Assistant Area Commander for Lichfield, said:

“This is a great opportunity for members of the public to do their bit for charity by making a donation and in return, get their car washed.”

The Fire Fighters Charity supports ill and injured fire service personnel and their families in their time of need. The Firefighters Memorial Trust is responsible for the fire service monument at the National Memorial Arboretum Garden, in Alrewas.  The monument honours and commemorates UK Firefighters who died on duty.
