Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

Mid-table Young Guns were perhaps the pick of the performers in the Burntwood Sunday six-a-side football league as they beat Norton Athletic 6-0.

Struggling FC Laser beat Pelsall Predators 2-0 to move away from the relegation zone, while PSV Hangover managed the same score against MOB.

In division one, a tight round of games saw Scholars and high-flying Aspen Arrows both won 1-0 against Attack of the Clowns and Warriors respectively, while Pity We’re Not Good must have been lulling their opponents into a false sense of security as they raced home 3-0 against The Big Devils.

It was a good day for two if the chasing pack in the Monday league, with Athletico Chasetown beating Lad FC 6-0 and Beercalona demolishing Real Brownhills by a 5-1 margin.

It was a similar story in division one, as The Bronx Reserves thumped Burntwood Monsters 7-0, although even that win leaves them quite a way behind Real Playaz FC who are comfortably in second after easing out ABDCEFC 3-0.

Division two leaders Yew Tree FC are building an imposing advantage, beating Burntwood Villa 4-2. It looks unlikely they will be caught, but it was Day Release who perhaps scored the most crucial victory, as they opened up a three point gap on White Widows, who stay deep in trouble after the 3-1 defeat.

Athletico Thistle saw their promotion hopes take a dent after losing 3-0 to shire Oak Villa, who strengthened their challenge, while it was honours even as Senseless and Bobby Dazzlers drew 1-1, a result that did neither side any favours.
