Councillors urge residents to support the Mile Oak and Fazeley Festival

Councillors are urging Lichfield residents to support this year’s Mile Oak and Fazeley Festival.

The event takes place Mile Oak Recreation Ground on August 21. The festival kicks off at noon with stalls, entertainment and food.

Festival highlights include football fun, circus skills workshops, birds of prey demonstrations, a surf simulator, puppet shows, inflatables, games, a graffiti wall and DJ workshops.

Live music will also be playing throughout the day, and the festival will finish with a prize draw at 3.45pm.

Cllr Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community, said:

“Every year Mile Oak and Fazeley Festival brings local people together to enjoy a fun day. Whether it is the live music, making a mark on a graffiti wall, or hooking a duck, there is something to entertain the whole family. A huge thank you must go to everyone who is working so hard to make this year’s festival a day to remember.”

Cllr Matthew Ellis, local Staffordshire County Councilor, added:

“I was absolutely delighted to contribute towards this fantastic local event through Staffordshire Local Community Fund. Not only does the day raise community spirit, it helps to bring people together from Mile Oak and Fazeley to celebrate their local area. Thank you to all the agencies who help to fund the festival and to everyone who works so hard to bring the day together.”

Entry to the festival is 50p and free for under fives. All proceeds from the day will benefit local causes.
