Rocester FC 6 Chasetown FC 0

A very youthful looking Chasetown line-up, consisting of scholarship, reserves and trialists took on Midland Alliance Rocester’s first team at Hillfield.

For an hour the youngsters were brilliant, taking the game to Rocester creating a number of decent goalscoring opportunities, but lacking final touch and defending superbly when needed. The only down side was conceding a penalty around the 30 minute mark, which Richard Woolley was unlucky not to save.

As expected the lads ran out of steam and Rocester took full advantage to go on and score five during the last half hour or so of the game.

It was very refreshing and encouraging to see so many promising youngsters coming through the club’s system on show. For a large part of the game Rocester were definitely involved in a good game of football. The lads who played a part in the game were a credit and will take today as a good learning curve for the future.
