Chasetown FC will lock horns with an old foe once more when they take on Sheffield in their final pre-season friendly.

The Scholars won a nail-biting play-off semi-final against their opponents en route to promotion last season.

And manager Charlie Blakemore believes they will provide the perfect test for his side ahead of their debut season in the Evo-Stick Premier Division.

Blakemore told the Chasetown FC website:

“Our final pre season friendly at home to Sheffield will be another good test for us against the oldest club side in the world. I rated them highly last year and they played a massive part in a great play-off semi-final last season. I have been pleased with our preparations so far and we will be really gearing up in training and our final friendly for the kick off of the new season.

“I want players to be at the top of their game in every game.”
