Rehearsals for the Fradley Players’ performance of Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus are well underway.

The group will perform the show October 28 to 30  at Fradley Village Hall and tickets are already on sale.

Habeas Corpus is a cheeky play about sexual frustration and hypocrisy, with a plot centred on the sex-mad, self-deluding Arthur Wicksteed, a GP practising in Brighton’s Hove who is bored rigid with married life even though his snobby wife Muriel is a suppressed dynamo of passion.

Throw in other memorable characters, including an obsessive spinster, a hypochondriac son, an interfering gossipy cleaner and a pervy vicar, and it all adds up to a delightful evening out.

Tickets to the show are £10, which includes a fish and chip supper. Seats can be booked at www.fradleyplayers.co.uk and, nearer to the performance dates, tickets will also be available from Fradley Post Office.
