The Lichfield Garrick is set to play host to one of the greatest names of the fifties and sixties when Marty Wilde takes to the stage to celebrate a career spanning more than 50 years.

Born Reginald Leonard Smith, in Greenwich, London, Marty was discovered at just 19-years-old by rock ‘n’ roll entrepreneur Larry Parnes while he was performing at the Condor Club, London.  His big break came with the advent of the UK’s first rock ‘n’ roll TV show, Six-Five Special.

A spokesperson for his latest show said:

“Join Marty as he presents a stunning evening of rock memories from his own vaults, and also pays homage to friends who helped shape the nature of British rock and roll, including his personal favourites Bad Boy, Jesamine, Teenager in Love, Rubber Ball, Jezabel, Sea of Love, and many more.”

Marty Wilde and The Wildcats will be at the Lichfield Garrick on September 10 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20 and can be booked from www.lichfieldgarrick.com, or by calling the Box Office on 01543 412121.
