Grant Ryan fires home to make it 2-0 against Belper Town

Chasetown FC have confirmed the permanent signing of striker Grant Ryan.

The former Mansfield Town man spent much of last season on loan at the Scholars Ground, but has now sealed a permanent move.

He joins fellow newcomer David Carns in making the switch to Chasetown. The midfielder has joined from Saltash United.

Ryan will be pushing for start in the Scholars’ league opener on Saturday (August 21) when they travel to Bradford Park Avenue.

However Carns is likely to have to wait for his chance after assistant manager Andy Cox confirmed the players that won Chasetown promotion will be given their chance to make the step up to a higher division by boss Charlie Blakemore.

He told the Chasetown FC website:

“Charlie is likely to stick by the players who won promotion for us last season – they will get first bite of the cherry when it comes to selection.”

Chasetown’s game at Bradford Park Avenue kicks off at 3pm.
