Lichfield residents are being invited to take part in a hay cutting and conservation event in the city.

Lichfield District Council’s countryside team and Burton Conservation Volunteers are organising the event at Christian Fields on Sunday (August 22).

The area is soon to be declared the district’s first local nature reserve.

Chris Walsh, Biodiversity Officer for Lichfield District Council, said:

“Taking part in conservation work is always rewarding as it’s good to work as a team towards a common goal. I hope lots of people join us on the day. If you do come along, remember to wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring along some gardening gloves.”

Anyone wanting to take part can just turn up at Christian Fields top car park at 10.30am. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the day for free.
