Advert gives Lichfield residents the chance to meet police chief

People in Lichfield are getting the chance to meet their neighbourhood policing commander – and they’ll be left in no doubt about where and where to find him thanks to a new advert.

A billboard at Waitrose on Darwin Park will let residents know where and when that they can meet Inspector Jed White and speak to him about local policing concerns and issues.

Assistant Chief Constable Marcus Beale said:

“We are very keen that people have as many opportunities as possible to meet and speak to their local officers. Each area has its own, unique issues and we want to hear about them. It’s only by listening to people’s concerns that we can put a neighbourhood’s issues into context, and work with our partners on finding a way forward.

“Our billboard campaign will give tens of thousands of people the chance to see when and where they can speak to their local policing inspector, and I very much hope that people will make the most of the opportunity.

“As a force we are committed to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, and to keeping our communities safe and reassured. Crime and anti-social behaviour are down, and we are determined to keep it that way.”

Insp White will be at Waitrose from noon to 2pm each day from September 7 to 11.
