Ghost tales set to be performed on stage in Lichfield

A Pleasing TerrorSpooky tales will be the order of the day when two ghost stories are performed at the Lichfield Garrick.

A Pleasing Terror sees the pair of works of M R James performed by R M Lloyd Barry on September 22 at 7.30pm.

A spokesperson for the show said:

“Over a century after they were first published, the stories retain their power to terrify and amuse. Following previous sell out performances, R M Lloyd Parry returns to the Garrick with two more of James’ classic spine-chillers.”

The two works are Canon Alberic’s Scrap-book, which sees a young Cambridge antiquary discover the devil in the details of an old book in a medieval town in the French Pyrenees, and The Mezzotin, where a ghoulish revenge is enacted within a work of art, before the helpless eyes of a museum curator in Oxford.

A Pleasing Terror will be at the Lichfield Garrick on September 22 at 7.30pm. Tickets start from £10.50 and can be booked from, or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
