Chasetown FC manager Charlie Blakemore admitted it was “a bitter pill to swallow” after seeing his side go down 1-0 against Kendal Town.

The Scholars were looking to make it three wins on the bounce, but were edged out of an even encounter after Danny McGahan’s second half strike proved the difference between the two sides.

And the Chasetown boss admitted the defeat was a frustrating one.

He told The Lichfield Blog:

“I felt the goal they scored was poor defending on our part. We had chances again in the last half-an-hour, we pressed and pressed and pressed but it wasn’t going to be.

“It’s frustrating because I think we had enough of the game to come out with something.”
