People are being urged to buy a brick to help build a new youth centre near Lichfield.

The scheme is being organised by the The Fradley Youth & Community Centre Committee to help pay for fees associated with the new centre.

The building will replace the original site which closed in 2004 and was demolished in 2008.

The final details are being worked through and the Committee launched a Buy-a-Brick campaign at the Fradley church fête, where quite a few residents signed up.

The bricks, when purchased for a minimum donation of £15, will be engraved with the buyers’ individual messages. They will then be used in the construction of the building, so that donors’ messages will be displayed in a prominent position close to the entrance.

Anyone interested in contributing to the new Youth & Community Centre – and incorporating their names in part of Fradley’s history – can get an application form from Fradley Post Office or by emailing FradleyYCC@googlemail.com.
