Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

FC Firm moved up to the top of the Burntwood Sunday six-a-side league as they beat FC Laser 2-0.

Last week’s leaders LGCC were toppled by the games only goal against PSV Hangover – who haven’t given up hope of taking honours themselves.

Pelsall Predators moved comfortably into mid-table as they squeaked home by the only goal against strugglers TDB.

Warriors moved away from the basement in division one as they eased Untouchables 3-0, while both mid-table Pity We’re Not Good and leaders Scholars FC both won 2-1 against Aspen Arrows and White Horse respectively.

Plenty of goals around in the Monday top league, but game was more crucial than Definatelymaybe’s 3-3 draw with The Barns – a result which ended the former’s slim title hopes.

Burntwood AFC will be hoping  to pip them even to second place if they carry on the sort of form that they showed in a 4-2 victory over Bayern Munchie FC.

In division one already Promoted Real Playaz beat Mean Machine 4-1, but Young Guns 5-1 hammering of Burntwood VI – although impressive – will only see them finish third.

Deportivo La Catalent beat rock bottom Big Macs by the only goal to remain odds on favourites in the division two promotion race, while Streetly Rangers saw their relegation confirmed after drawing 1-1 with Day Release.

Underdogs were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by struggling Inter, which handed the promotion initiative in division three to The Students and Jay, who dismissed basement boys The Students and Jay 4-0.
