Hundreds of athletes pounded the streets of the city as the Lichfield 10K event took place.

Organised by Lichfield Running Club, the event saw runners of all abilities taking part.

The elite race was won by Phil Hinch from Tipton Harriers in a time of 31mins 50secs, with Birchfield Harrier James Trollope second in a time of 32mins 15secs. Third place went to Matthew Lole of the Coventry Godiva Harriers club in a time of 32mins 29secs.

The leading female athlete was Abby Norman of Derby Athletics Club who clocked a finishing time of 37mins 39secs. Second went to Sarah Johnson of Trentham Running Club in a time of 37mins 52secs.

just to say i finnished in 50.31 and felt that was not good as i never felt at ease and i done quite a few last year time was 49.08 flet i could do better but not to be ,good course and nice to run towards tamworth on the road with the lights on Red …..
