Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

Brian Blessed Hawkmen remain deep in relegation trouble in the Burntwood 6 a side Premier Division, as they were beaten 3-1 by Pelsall Predators.

Elsewhere, Heavyweights and Young Guns both win 3-0 against FC Laser and PSV Hangover to keep alive their title hopes. GGu16’s upset the formbook in division one and beat Aspen Arrows 3-1.

One Hit Wonderers beat Scholars 4-0 and moved top of the table at the expense of their opponents, while The Untouchables 1-0 loss at the hands of The Kings of Zimbabwe was enough to see them sink to the bottom of the table.

Definatelymaybe hung on to second place with a 6-0 victory over FC Long Shots, which meant Burntwood AFC had to settle for third despite beating Real Brownhills 1-0.

Division one’s promoted duo The Drop Outs and Real Playaz showed just why, the former crushing Burntwood Monsters 9-0 and Real Playaz easing out Inter 7-3.

FC Sporting had to settle for third spot in division two – but will be hoping that their 1-0 victory over promoted Deportivo heralds a better campaign next term and champions Yew Tree arguably had their minds on next season as they lost 3-0 to Day Release.

The Students and Jay held their nerve and took the remaining division three promotion spot with a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Underdogs, but Shire Oak Villa couldn’t have done much more to take it themselves, wrapping up their season with a 3-1 victory over Shakthar.
