Chasetown FC have confirmed that defender Chris Horton has joined Romulus FC on loan.

The young centre back has been allowed to make the switch in order to “build up his skill and experience”, according to the club’s website.

Horton burst onto the first team scene with a goal on his first start for Chasetown in an FA Trophy game at Lancaster City last season.

But despite making a handful of appearances this season, boss Charlie Blakemore clearly feels the youngster will have more first team opportunities with the Sutton Coldfield-based side.

However, Chasetown will be able to recall Horton from his loan spell should they need to.

The Scholars have also revealed that Scott Embrey has moved to Rushall Olympic after failing to break into the first team picture.

Chasetown will be looking to put their FA Cup defeat at Kidsgrove Athletic behind them when they travel to Worksop Town tomorrow (September 18).
