Lichfield writer’s plays set to hit the road

Two new plays by a Lichfield writer are set to go on the road after making their debut in the city.

Theatre company Nobody’s Perfect Productions are staging the double-bill by local playwright  Phil Preece at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre from October 7 to 9.

And it has now been confirmed that the plays will head for the Rose Theatre in Kidderminster on October 14.

Director Paolo Allen said:

“These two plays are a gem for any actor and we are very pleased to be premiering these superb plays in our home city of Lichfield. Keeping local quality, professional theatre alive and well in our favourite city is something we are very proud of.”

The first piece – Almost Human – is a clever comedy where a loner, geek and compulsive computer war gamer is stuck in his bedroom endlessly playing on his laptop. But when he leaves the game running for two years a so-called superior being steps from the computer world with the intention of dominating the real world – and only Rob can stop her.

The second play is Precious Jewel, set in the reign of Elizabeth I. She has been out hunting but a terrible storm forces her and her party to take refuge in an isolated country house – but it houses an unexpected individual.

Tickets for the Lichfield Garrick performances are available from the box office on 01543 412121 or online at www.lichfieldgarrick.com.
