The man who laid the foundation stone of modern physics is set to be explored in a Lichfield talk.
Galileo biographer John Heilbron will be talking about the life of the man whose discoveries destroyed the medieval cosmos at The George Hotel on October 9 as part of the Lichfield Literature festival.
A spokesperson for the show said:
“Heilbron transports us to the late Renaissance world of Florence, Padua, and Rome – vibrant with creativity and discovery, bristling with political and theological tension.
“He shows how Galileo’s mastery of perspective enabled him to picture in three dimensions what others had difficulty seeing in two.”
Booking is now open for the full programme of Lichfield Literature events and tickets can be booked at the Lichfield Festival office, 7 The Close, Lichfield WS13 7LD, by phone on 01543 306270 and online at www.lichfieldfestival.org.
