Cottage Farm 3 Chasetown FC Ladies 0

Chasetown FC put in a superb performance but somehow came out on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline.

Cottage Farm were confident after winning their first two league matches 6-0 and 7-0 but Chasetown gave them a major challenge.

Unfortunately the Scholars allowed the opposition to score early again and were 1-0 down after 15 minutes.

The players rallied and worked hard to dominate the game for long periods. Only excellent goalkeeping by the Cottage Farm goalkeeper kept Chasetown out.

The visitors opened the second half in the same fashion, dominating play and setting up chance after chance. But Cottage Farm’s defence held firm at some cost and one defender was flattened having blocked a Jodie Kinsey thunderbolt from the edge of the box.

The game was on a knife-edge and Cottage Farm were fortunate to get another goal. Experience and strength undid Chasetown as the hosts added a third goal.

Chasetown player of the match was Jade Arber.

This was a much improved performance again and the team are clearly moving in the right direction.
