Shenstone Pathfinder crashed to a heavy away defeat at high flying Penncroft in a disappointing performance.
The first half saw Penncroft looking very sharp as the visiting midfield and defence struggled to keep close to them and it was no surprise when they took the lead with a fine strike from the edge of the box.
The hosts made it 2-0 on the 20 minute mark when a bobbling ball in the box was only cleared to the edge of the box and another fine strike flew into the net leaving returning keeper Callum Heanan helpless.
Shenstone pushed hard and were unlucky not to halve the deficit on the half-hour when Bernard Finkle was sent clear down the right. He cut inside but was very unlucky to see his shot cleared off the line to leave the half time score at 2-0.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, Penncroft played some good attacking football and added a third after 55 minutes.
Pathfinder were once again unfortunate not to pull a goal back when Matt Jones’ header hit the bar from six yards out. But it was Penncroft who finished the strongest adding two late goals to give them a 5-0 win which took them to third in the league and maintained their unbeaten record.
Shenstone will look to erase the memory of their defeat next Saturday (October 2) when they entertain Trysull, kick-off 3pm.
