A paintball site near Lichfield has added new gaming areas to cope with an increasing number of corporate groups wanting to enjoy the facilities.wanting to combine team-based activities with a great day out.

National Paintball Fields Bassett’s Pole (NPF) has spent £250,000 improving its facilties, which now include 13-movie themed combat zones across 200 acres of woodland.

NPF’s operations manager Kerry Atkin said:

“In the 23 years since we began, we have had an investment programme that has focussed on the development of playing areas to give gamers the very best experience. For example we have built temples, a replica foreign embassy, World War I trenches and we even have a real military helicopter, which adds a brilliant ‘wow’ factor and extra reality to the battle areas.

“Our most recent £250,000 investment this year has been spent on creating new playing areas and improving team facilities at the base camp. There are also developments in progress, yet to be revealed that will make a players’ experience begin in a startling way before they have even entered the gate.

“Each of the zones has been designed around movie or recognisable military themes. Whilst all the scenarios are as tough, rugged and realistic as you would imagine, the facilities for groups are superb. We have added just the right amount of military utility to make arriving, kitting out and briefing convincing without being uncomfortable. From arrival, our teams are on hand to work with groups to deliver a memorable day of paintballing, or for the more hi-tech minded, Laser, A-Ball or Air Soft.”

The Embassy Siege is one of the new additions at NPF, with its labyrinth of darkened rooms and corridors. Those who have not made it through the game can watch the action unfold from elevated platforms that give an overview to the action below.

Kerry added:

“The NPF experience is not about running around a hedgerow with a paintball gun, shooting at your mates or colleagues for half an hour. This is strategic game play in convincing battle arenas that which will involve players completely in adrenaline the fuelled action.

“For added drama there are smoke and paint grenades available which have not only a tactical use, but also add to the atmosphere. For groups of friends it is a brilliant day out and for corporates, this is a whole new way of taking the action from the boardroom to the battlefield.

“What we can create for corporate customers is only limited by the imagination.”
