Deadline looms for parents to apply for secondary school places across Lichfield and Burntwood

The deadline is looming for parents in Lichfield and Burntwood to apply for secondary school places for their children.

The September 2011 enrolment process is underway with applications accepted until October 31.

People are being encouraged to make use of the online admissions process.

Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Schools Liz Staples said:

“The county council knows how important it is to parents to get their preferred school, and we strive to meet people’s requirements wherever possible.  We do need all applications in by October 31 as a lot of work has to go into organising school places.

“We are pleased that so many people apply online, as this is something we wholeheartedly encourage in the interests of speed and efficiency.”

Anyone who wishes to apply for a secondary school place for their child in September 2011 can log on to www.staffordshire.gov.uk/education/Admissions to make an online application or call the School Admissions & Transport Service on 01785 278593 and make a telephone application.

Parents will be able to apply for Primary School places from November 1.
