A new fundraising director has been appointed at Lichfield Cathedral.

The role will be taken on by Patricia Collins, who will move from London to Lichfield to take up the post in late November.

For the past five years she has been the Chief Executive and Fundraising Director for the London Irish Women’s Centre and has previously held a similar position at the Marx Memorial Library in London.

Patricia Collins commented:

“With a background in fundraising, refurbishment of an historic building and specialist library, I consider it a privilege to have been invited to take this active role in securing the successful completion of the East End project for Lichfield Cathedral.

“The continued well-being of this magnificent structure, of major historical and spiritual importance, will be the longer-term goal to which I undertake to devote all my energies. I look forward to working closely with the Dean and Chapter, the Patrons, Friends, volunteers and staff who have already achieved so much.  Together we can assure the future of the Cathedral for generations to come.”

The Very Reverend Adrian Dorber added:

“We look forward to Patricia joining the team here at the Cathedral in November and we are excited about her wealth of sector knowledge, which will be invaluable at this point in the Cathedral’s restoration.

“The clergy, staff and volunteers would like to welcome her to Lichfield and to the Cathedral and look forward to working in partnership with her to see that Lichfield Cathedral is preserved for future generations”.
