Captain wants Lichfield RUFC to learn lessons from defeat

Captain Dave Bassett has warned Lichfield RUFC to learn their lessons from a disappointing defeat against Camp Hill RUFC.

Despite having the chances to wrap up a win, the Myrtle Greens were pipped to the post and went down 23-37.

And with a chance to make amends at Whitchurch RUFC tomorrow (October 16), Bassett is keen that his side don’t make the same mistakes again.

Bassett said:

“Without taking anything away from our opponents, it was a game that we should have won. We wasted at least five clear try scoring opportunities and this lack of finishing prowess cost us. We lacked composure at key times and chased the game too early which affected our control and continuity.

“But the games don’t get any easier and we now have to travel to Whitchurch who have a formidable home record. But we will be hoping to learn lessons from the last defeat and start to realise our potential.”
