Riders prepare for the first family cycle ride

A series of free family cycle rides around Lichfield is set to conclude with journey to Fradley and back.

The event takes place on October 24 and is organised by Lichfield District Council, in partnership with the North Lichfield Initiative and Freedom Cycles.

Setting off from outside Freedom Cycles at Lichfield Bus Station, experienced ride leaders will guide the group to Fradley Junction and back again – with a break for lunch built in.

Councillor Neil Roberts, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Development Services, said:

“This is the final family ride of the series, and I am sure lots of cyclists will use the opportunity to have an enjoyable day out on their bikes. These rides are getting really popular with more than 30 riders joining the cycle to Whittington in September.”

This ten mile ride to Fradley is aimed at all ages and abilities, but cyclists taking part will need to bring their own bike and cycle helmet, and anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
