Lichfield students have shown their film-making skills to scoop three prizes in a county-wide competition.

Three films by Nether Stowe School pupils took top prizes at the SAFTAS 2010 Awards Ceremony which saw hundreds of children from across Staffordshire competing.

The city school won in the Key Stage 4 Film, Key Stage 4 Animation and Key Stage 3 Film categories.

Headteacher Ruth Poppleton said:

“It was great to see our students being so successful in the SAFTAs. As a specialist computing college we try to integrate IT skills into real life projects. The students made these films during the three days of enrichment week demonstrating creativity, technical skills and team work.

“I would like to extend my hearty congratulations to all the prize winners and the staff who supported them.”

Winning entries will soon be online at www.saftas.org.uk.
