A Lichfield-based theatre company has received a helping hand from two organisations in the United States for their new show.

Last Man Standing Productions’ new performance of [title of show] needed documents from across the Atlantic that are difficult to get hold of in the UK.

So they called on the Arizona Theatre Company and The Repertory Theatre of St Louis to get their hands on exactly what they needed.

Director Richard Poynton explained:

“The show is about two men writing a musical, and during the show in order to get inspiration for what they want to write, they look at playbills of flop Broadway shows.

“It proved incredibly difficult to get hold of copies of these playbills here in the UK and so we contacted American companies who had performed [title of show], plus the American Theatre Wing.

“Fortunately two companies got back to us and they scanned and emailed 49 obscure playbills.”

The quirky show is a love letter to musical theatre and creative self-expression. It chronicles the journey of Hunter and Jeff as they set themselves the task of writing an original musical destined for Broadway in just three weeks.  They write about what to write and the events shaping their journey as they unfold.

The show will run for two performances on October 29 and 30 at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton. To book tickets call 01902 321321 or visit www.arenatheatre.info.

The show is unsuitable for anyone under 15.
