Lichfield performers are being invited to help entertain visitors to the city during the build-up to the festive season.

A Christmas Festival is being hosted by Visit Lichfield on December 11 and 12 and will feature a Georgian Family Christmas at the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum, a special Explore Lichfield at Christmas guided walk, Carols in Beacon Park and Christmas Celebrations on Darwin’s Birthday at the Erasmus Darwin House.

There will also be hot chocolate and mulled wine served on the Market Square, a Santa’s grotto, free entertainment, a Rudolf trail for children and a Christmas Fayre.

Councillor Louise Flowith, Cabinet Member for Tourism, said:

“From singers and actors to jugglers and fire eaters, we are looking for performers who want to add an extra bit of Christmas cheer to this year’s festival. We’re keen to fill the Market Square with singing, dancing and special performances, and are looking for amateur or professional groups or individual performers to volunteer to be a part of the fun. So, if you would like to be involved, please get in touch with the Visit Lichfield team.”

To volunteer to be a part of the festivities, please call Emily Robinson on 01543 308215 or email Emily.robinson@lichfielddc.gov.uk by November 5.
