Clements are struggling in the imoSports Midland Combination Second Division but City boss, Dean Gilbert, is expecting anything but an easy afternoon against opponents from the same division.

He explained:

“It was a close game when we played them earlier in October. We beat them 2-1 at their place but they give us a good game.

“Obviously the league is the most important thing but it’s always nice to progress in cup competitions.”

City go into the game on the back of a hard fought 2-2 draw with Continental Star Reserves last Saturday. That point kept the Brownsfield Park outfit in second position in the table, although they have played considerably more games than their nearest rivals.

Gilbert added:

“We have got a lot of injuries but we’ve just got to take each game as it comes. We picked up a point on our travels last weekend, which all things considered was a good point.

“Hopefully, we can continue to build on that in the league. First things first though, we’ve got to prepare correctly for our cup match this weekend.”
