Chasetown FC Ladies 2 Prees Raiders 4

A battling performance by Chasetown FC Ladies was not quite enough to see off the challenge of Prees Raiders.

The Scholars played the first 40 minutes with just ten players but outplayed the visitors.

The hosts took a deserved lead after just 10 minutes. A direct free kick was converted by Nicci Barter from 25 yards and the team were playing well.

However, an unfortunate mix-up in the penalty areas enabled Prees to level the score on the half hour.

Just before half time Heather Loynes arrived and brought the team up to eleven but injuries – and the effort of playing with ten – began to take its toll as the second half wore on.

In the 65th minute Prees took the lead with a good lob from distance.

Chasetown fought back but went further behind in the 80th minute when a cross was converted.

The Scholars were not finished as Charlotte Bull raced towards the Prees defence and slotted a pass though for Sinead Treanor, who converted for her fourth goal of the season.

Chasetown were now losing players through injuries and Prees made the game safe a few minutes from the end.
