Call for volunteers to help out ahead of Burntwood lantern parade

Volunteers are being urged to help residents create lanterns for a parade through the streets of Burntwood.

The event takes place on December 11 and lantern-making workshops will take place between November 27 and December 9.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said:

“We’re all looking forward to the lantern parade and know this year’s will be a spectacular event. However, it is only possible through the hard work and effort that local people put into it. I hope lots of people come forward and volunteer to help out at the workshops. They should be good fun, and a great way to meet new friends.”

Everyone who volunteers will need to attend a training workshop at Oakdene Day Centre on November 10, from 6pm to 8pm.
