A city arts organisation is appealing for volunteers to help out at a range of events across Lichfield.

Lichfield Arts is a non-profit-making organisation with charitable status that puts on more than 40 concerts a year in the Guildhall, as well staging the Lichfield Real Ale Jazz and Blues festival, Fuse, Lichfield Roots and Folk Festival and the Lichfield Winter Beer and Wine Festival.

The group relies heavily on volunteers to help them in areas such as stewarding, selling tickets and helping with staging, as well as the organisation of the various festivals.

Lichfield Arts Director Brian Pretty said:

“While we do have a very hard-working and dedicated team we welcome new volunteers. We are a friendly bunch, the work is rewarding and can even be fun at times. We would be particularly delighted to have more young people come forward and join us.”

The Fuse event in Beacon Park is one of those that is in need of more help.

Festival director Tim Perks explained:

“As Fuse grows every year we need more and more volunteers. This year, along with the need for people to take on general duties, we are particularly looking for people to join the organising team to help with fundraising, managing particular events at Fuse and publicity. Becoming a volunteer can add a new dimension to your social life and can even enhance your job prospects.”
