Police are urging residents to be on their guard after a report of bogus callers near Lichfield.

Two men claiming to be waterboard officials called at the home of an 88-year-old man in Fazeley yesterday (November 9).

The two offenders, who left the Brook End property shortly before 2.30pm, went through the man’s cupboards but police do not believe anything was stolen.

One of them is described as white, aged in his 30s, heavily built with a round, chubby face. He was wearing blue clothes including a blue woolly hat.

Anyone with information is urged to ring Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 4455, quoting police incident number 425 of 9 November.
