Police appeal after security guard is robbed near Lichfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a security guard was robbed near Lichfield.

Two men stole cash from the guard as he left the shop in Main Street, Alrewas, shortly after 7am today (November 12).

The robbers were approximately 5ft 7ins tall. Both wore caps, while one wore a ski mask and the other a hooded top.

A stolen black Vauxhall Astra, used by the offenders, was abandoned a short distance away in Wellfield Road. It is believed two other dark-coloured cars – an Audi A3 and an Audi A4 estate – were also involved in thecrime.

Det Sgt Ian Fitzgerald, from Burton CID, said:

“We’re pursuing several active lines of inquiry and are appealing for anyone with information to ring us on 01785 234971 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

The police incident number is 123 of 12 November.
