Indoor Wattbike leagues are set to get underway in Lichfield.

Events will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays for adults and children throughout the winter at Friary Grange Leisure Centre, starting tomorrow (November 16).

Things get underway at 7pm with a youth league, which includes a ladies-only, before the adults get in the saddle on November 19. Competitions will be run over an 11 week series of dates, which finishes in February 2011.

Participants can expect to compete in five events during the evening, all of which are based on races more commonly seen in an Olympic velodrome.

A spokesperson said:

“The events are open to anyone to participate in, whether you are a cyclist or not. Everyone will find that an increase in fitness levels is gained as a result of participation.”
