Lichfield City FC came back from two goals down to secure a share of the spoils against Greenhill.

Dean Gilbert’s men were caught cold by the hosts who raced in to a 2-0 lead by the half-time interval.

However, with the manager’s team talk ringing in their ears, City came flying out of the blocks and a quick-fire brace from Dan Hodgkins levelled proceedings.

Despite their best efforts City couldn’t find a winner though and in the end had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Boss Gilbert said:

“We started off very poorly. Some players didn’t look up for the challenge and I was certainly worried by the first half. We conceded two really poor goals and it was looking like it was going to be a very frustrating day.

“After a half time chat we started to play and we looked threatening whenever we went forward.  We found a burst of energy that was 45 minutes too late basically. Second-half we were top drawer but couldn’t find the winner, which was frustrating.”

Fourth-placed City travel to fifth-placed Young Warriors in imoSports Division Two on Saturday (November 20), kick-off 3pm.

Elsewhere, Andy McRobbie’s second-string recorded a 3-0 victory over Stratford Town A in Division Three last weekend.
