Running Santas. Pic: Lincolnian
Festive folks are already signing up for a Santa run in Lichfield. Taking place on December 19, the event will see the city follow in the footsteps of Liverpool, Glasgow and Cardiff by inviting local fun runners to don their Father Christmas outfits for a gentle jog. Those cities regularly attract as many as 5,000 suited Santas – and Paul Griffin from organisers KP Events is hoping Lichfield will also attract a bumper field for the Lichfield Health and Fitness Club-sponsored run. He said:
“Other  parts of the country will see a big turn out and in time Lichfield also will have a massive field too but in this first year we are just hoping that as many Santas as possible make it along and add to what we hope will be a wonderful Festive season in these hard times we are all facing.”
All participants will have a Santa uniform to wear as they run the near mile long circuit from Stowe Field round Stowe Pool and finishing back on Stowe Field. All finishers receive a special Father Christmas medal and a Christmas pudding. Entry is £10.50 for adults,£7.50 for children with families of three paying £22.50 and families of four £25.00. A donation will be made to St Giles Hospice from monies raised from the event. To find out more and to enter visit or call 07947698147.
